Tata Power Solar Systems Limited (TPSSL) has won a letter of award worth Rs 5.96 billion from NHDC Limited for the establishment of a 125 MWp floating solar project. NHDC invited bids for this project at the Omkareshwar reservoir in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa district earlier this year. It will be one of the largest floating solar power projects in India.
Tariff-based competitive bidding was used to award the letter of award. The project will be completed within 13 months from the date of the letter of award and will provide Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited with sustainable power. With this project, the company’s total utility-scale solar project portfolio has reached 9.8 GWp. The total order book value of TPSSL stands at Rs 149.08billion.
Recently in June 2022, TPSSL completed the construction of a 450 MWDC solar plant for Brookfield Renewable India. The installation included the setup of over 800,000 modules and was completed within a 7 month time frame. The project will produce over 800 GWh of clean energy per year and help to avoid up to 600,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
