
NHPC Limited has signed a MoU with PTC India Limited for the sale of power produced by Nepal’s upcoming West Seti and Seti River-6 projects. According to the MoU, PTC will purchase the contracted capacity from NHPC from the date of commercial operation of the above projects for long-term sale to state utilities, discoms, or bulk consumers in India and neighbouring countries. PTC will also take the opportunity to sell any untied capacity on a medium or short term basis or through power exchanges.
Recently in August 2022, NHPC Renewable Energy Limited (NHPC REL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NHPC Limited signed a MoU with the government of Rajasthan for establishing a 10,000 MW ultra-mega renewable energy power park. The MoU seeks to optimise the resources and knowledge base shared by both parties.
In the same month, a MoU was signed between NHPC Limited and Bharat Electronics Limited for the setting up of a GigaWatt scale vertically integrated solar manufacturing unit.
