NHPC Renewable Energy Limited (NHPC REL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NHPC Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Rajasthan for establishing a 10,000 MW ultra-mega renewable energy power park. The MoU seeks to optimise the resources and knowledge base shared by both parties.
In July 2022, NHPC Limited and Damodar Valley Corporation agreed to create a joint venture company to explore the development of hydropower and pump storage projects. Both companies are planning to work together for developing hydropower and pump storage projects as energy storage solutions. The MoU called for the collaboration on mutually identified projects.
In the same month, the government of Rajasthan signed an MoU with NTPC Renewable Energy Limited for the deployment of a 10 GW mega renewable energy power park in Rajasthan.
