KREDL floats EPC tender for 5 MW solar project

A call for proposals has been made by Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) for the selection of an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor of a 5 MW solar photovoltaic project with a 5 MW /16 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at Pavagada Ultra Mega Solar Park in the Tumakuru district of Karnataka. The scope of work also includes the development of a 66 kV line terminal bay for KREDL BESS at Karnataka Solar Power Development Corporation’s Pavagada solar park’s 220/66 kV sub-station number six.

The EPC contractor will be in charge of the plant’s operation and maintenance for a period of 10 years. The anticipated total cost of the project is $635.73 million. KREDL will give away 43 acres of land. Out of the total, 25 acres of land will be used to develop the project. Additional land may be provided based on the contractor’s justification.The deadline for proposal submissions is September 14, 2022.

Recently in July 2022, the Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (KMF) floated bids for the establishment of 100 MW of solar power projects for KMF and its other member unions by deploying a group captive model. The aggregate cost of the project is anticipated to be around Rs 3.92 billion.
