Hygenco India, a company based in Haryana has signed a long term green hydrogen offtake agreement with Jindal Stainless Limited. Hygenco will be responsible to build, own, and operate a multi-megawatt green hydrogen facility for 20 years under the terms of the agreement. Through this, Jindal Stainless Ltd will be able to reduce its carbon emissions by approximately 2,700 metric tonnes per year.
An advanced energy management and control system will operate at the fully autonomous plant. The system monitors a variety of parameters, including hydrogen generation, renewable energy generation, state of charge, pressure, and temperature, and makes autonomous real-time decisions to maximise efficiency. The technology enables the company to increase hydrogen yield and provide cost-effective hydrogen to end users.In the next three years.
Hygenco is a venture backed by Vivaan Solar and aims to work in deploying green hydrogen and green ammonia powered industry solutions. The company plans to invest more than $300 million in green hydrogen projects across India.
