MingYang Smart Energy has launched the MySE 12 MW hybrid drive offshore wind turbine. It is an upgrade from the 11 MW platform and is designed to withstand super typhoons of 78.82 m/s. It can reportedly generate 25 kWh of electricity in a single spin and 45 million kWh of electricity each year. As per the company’s statement, the economic case for the 12 MW wind turbine is strong as it can help reduce the number of wind turbines by one-third, thereby significantly lowering the cost of the project as a whole.
