BMC floats bids for 21 MW solar projects

Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has invited bids on an annuity payment basis for the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, and commissioning of 21 MW (2 *10.5 MW) of solar power projects in Madhya Pradesh’s Neemuch district. The BMC plans to set up two solar power projects to generate power for captive use at various pumping stations throughout the Bhopal administrative district.

Bidders must submit Rs 5 million as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder will also be responsible for operation and maintenance for the next 25 years. Also, the successful bidder should submit two performance securities totaling Rs 10.5 million each for the 10.5 MW capacity. Within 30 days of the award, the performance securities must be submitted.

The AC power generated by both projects must be supplied into the Rampura 132/33 kV Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company (MPPTCL), Jabalpur substation at the 33 kV level, using different circuits for each project. Approval from Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company, or MPPTCL, to obtain connectivity would be part of the developer’s responsibility. The bid submission deadline is September 8, 2022.

In May 2022, BMC issued a request for proposal from consultants to provide consultancy services for the installation of 20 MW of solar projects to supply electricity to the city’s high-tension consumers.
