Ohmium International, a US-based clean energy start-up is collaborating with Spirare Energy, a Delhi-based company to generate green hydrogen at the NTPC NETRA campus. Spirare Energy will manage the engineering, procurement and construction of the project whereas Ohmium will provide the electrolysers to Spirare. The Spirare-Ohmium project is part of NTPC’s NETRA Green Campus Project. The project will supply up to 52 tons of green hydrogen annually for the power generation and energy storage application.
Ohmium produces pressurised high-purity hydrogen using standardised interlocking modular proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysers. Ohmium’s proprietary electrolyser stack technology can maintain a constant differential pressure across the membrane, which improves cost-effective operation.
In March 2022, Ohmium International announced an agreement with India’s CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute under which Ohmium will fund CSIR-CECRI to develop new materials in the form of carbon free hydrogen carriers.
