Central Electronics Ltd has requested bids for the supply of 3 million multi-crystalline solar cells wherein 1.5 million cells should be rated with a minimum peak output of 4.68 watts and another 1.5 million rated for 4.63 Wp. According to the tender guidelines, the vendor’s manufacturing capacity for multi-crystalline solar cells must be at least 30 MW per year in order to be eligible.
Additionally , the solar cells must have five busbars. The front busbar should have a minimum width of 0.8 ± 0.2 mm and for the back busbar, the minimum width should be 1.5 ± 0.3 mm.The cell thickness should be around 200 ± 20 microns. Also ,the cells must have a uniform silicon nitride as an anti-reflection coating.
In January 2022, CEL floated a tender for the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of decentralised solar systems ranging from 2 MW to 10 MW with a accumulative capacity of 25 MW at various substations in Maharashtra. Washim, Buldhana, and Sangli are among the districts where these projects’ substations are located.
