The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) has floated bids for long-term contracts to purchase power from 500 MW interstate or intrastate grid-connected solar power projects. According to tender guidelines, bidders must provide an earnest money deposit of Rs 472,000 per MW of quoted capacity. In the case of proposed or new solar projects, MSEDCL will enter into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the selected bidders to purchase solar power for 25 years from the scheduled commercial operation date.
For intra-state projects, a single location’s minimum project capacity is 25 MW, and a project’s minimum bid capacity is 50 MW. The minimum project capacity and minimum bid capacity for interstate projects will both be 50 MW at a single location. If the technical and financial requirements are met, a single bidder can quote a maximum capacity of 500 MW. The project capacity will also be in multiples of 25 MW for intra-state projects and 100 MW for inter-state projects over the minimum project capacity. The bid submission deadline is August 30, 2022.
Recently in July 2022,MSEDCL requested bids for a total capacity of 500 MW (AC) of solar electricity from a decentralised solar project under Component C of the PM-KUSUM scheme.
