Exide energy solutions signs lease for acquiring land in Bengaluru

A lease-cum-sale contract was signed between Exide Energy Solutions, a fully owned subsidiary of Exide Industries, and Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board to acquire an 80-acre land in Bengaluru. To serve India’s emerging electric mobility and stationary application industries, the land parcel will be utilised to build a cutting-edge, multi-gigawatt lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing facility. 

Exide and SVOLT Energy Technology, based in China, had agreed to a multi-year technical collaboration. SVOLT will provide Exide with an irrevocable licence to use and commercialise the necessary technologies and know-how for lithium-ion cell manufacturing in India according to the terms of the agreement.

Recently in June 2022, Cleantech Solar, a provider of renewable energy commissioned a 2.6 MW rooftop solar PV system at the newly built manufacturing facility of Chloride Metals Limited in Haldia, West Bengal. Chloride Metals Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Exide Industries Limited.
