The West Bengal Power Development Corporation (WBPDCL) has issued a tender for a three-year comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) contract for 1,089 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems. These projects are located on buildings at the Bandel Thermal Power Station in Hooghly, West Bengal. According to the tender guidelines, bidders must submit Rs 161,000 as earnest money deposit. Selected bidders are required to submit a performance guarantee equivalent to 3 percent of the project cost within 15 days of issuance of work order.
Bidders should have completed an O&M contract for one rooftop, ground-mounted, or floating solar power project of 1 MW capacity or two projects of 0.5 MWp capacity within the last seven years. They must have a minimum yearly turnover of Rs 2.45 million during the last three financial years. The bid submission deadline is August 22, 2022.
Recently in June 2022, West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission approved a power purchase agreement between the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company and the Solar Energy Corporation of India for the procurement of 100 MW of wind-solar hybrid power on a round-the-clock basis at Rs 2.90 per kWh, plus a trading margin of Rs 0.07 per kWh.
