CREST floats EPC tender to set up 2 MW of floating solar projects in Chandigarh

The Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science and Technology Promotion Society (CREST) has floated a tender for the development of a 2 MW of grid-connected floating solar projects with high power evacuation systems in Chandigarh. The project’s anticipated cost is Rs 115 million. The successful bidders must complete the project within five months of executing the work order and offer full operations and maintenance for a period of 10 years. According to the tender guidelines, the bidders must also submit Rs 2.3 million as an earnest money deposit. The bid submission deadline is August 12, 2022.

The scope of work comprises the design, fabrication, construction, delivery, testing, and commissioning of two 1 MW grid-connected floating solar projects at Water Works tanks 7 and 8 in Sector 39, Chandigarh. As per the tender guidelines, the bidders must provide a Rs 2.4 million earnest deposit. The selected bidders must additionally present a performance bank guarantee for 3 per cent of the contract amount within 15 days of the work order’s issuance.

Earlier this month, NTPC Limited established a 100 MW floating solar power plant at Ramagundam, Peddapalli district in Telangana. The plant has been completely commissioned with the commercial operation of the final capacity of 20 MW. The entire project spans over 500 acres. The project has been completed with the support of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited under an engineering, procurement, and construction contract.
