Tata Power to purchase 300 MW renewable power for short-term contract

Tata Electricity Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL) has requested bids for the purchase of power upto 300 MW round-the-clock non-solar renewable power for a short-term contract. The periods of the contract will be from August 16, 2022 to October 31, 2022, and April 1, 2023 to June 30, 2023 to achieve its renewable purchase obligation requirements. The bid submission deadline is August 2, 2022.

Selected bidders will be required to submit for short-term open access on behalf of Tata Power DDL such that separate short-term open access charges up to the delivery point would not be invoiced to or payable by the bidder. The power supply may be provided by one or more sources, with the provision that no single source’s supply is less than 1 MW. 

Recently in July 2022, Tata Power announced that it aims to invest more than Rs 750 billion in the renewable sector over the next five years. The company intends to increase the proportion of its green portfolio to 60 percent during the next five years. It aims to boost its renewable energy portfolio to reach 80 percent by 2030.
