GreenZo Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with API Power, a Nepal-based renewable energy company, to establish 50-MW green hydrogen plants in Nepal over the next three years. The MoU includes API Power investing Rs 10 billion in green hydrogen plants of 50 MW capacity that can yield 4000-MT hydrogen annually. It has been recommended that existing hydro and solar projects be utilised for the hydrogen endeavour, including Bardeghat, Chanauta, Kawasoti, Dhalkebar, Parwanipur, Simara, and Chandranigapur. The pilot hydro project of one megawatt (MW), as agreed upon by both companies, will commence at the Naugarh Gad Hydroelectric Project (8.5 MW). The MoU will be in effect until the intended projects are completed by 2025.
