REMC invites tender for 1.548 GW solar projects

Railway Energy Management Company Limited (REMC), a joint venture of Indian Railways and RITES, has requested for bids to establish 1.548 GW ground-mounted solar power projects. These projects will be set up close to traction substations featuring 25 kV connection across India. The bid submission deadline is September 13, 2022.

As per tender guidelines, bidders must provide an earnest money deposit of Rs 1.068 million per MW per package. The projects will be built, owned, and operated by the selected company. The corresponding nodal zonal railway would execute and sign the power purchase agreements (PPA) with the successful solar power developer. The solar developer will be accountable for securing land for the project for the duration of the PPA and establishing connectivity with the transmission system held by the Railways traction system, if necessary.

Recently in May 2022, REMC floated a tender for the installation of 50 MW of ground-mounted solar projects near traction substations with 25 kV connectivity in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
