GUVNL auctions 500 MW of wind power to seven winners

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam’s (GUVNL’s) auction to purchase power from 500 MW of grid-connected wind power projects (Phase-III) has been completed. The declared winners are Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL), Rajpur Renewables (EDF Renewables), Juniper Green Energy, Solarcraft Power India 3 (Blupine Energy), TEQ Green Power XII (O2 Power), ACME Pokhran Solar, and Project Twelve Renewable Power (Ayana Renewable Power). The tender was released in May 2022 with a greenshoe option for up to 500 MW of additional capacity.

GSECL was awarded 70 MW at Rs 2.84/kWh. EDF Renewables was allocated 30 MW at Rs 2.98/kWh. Juniper Green Energy was granted 40 MW at Rs 3.04/kWh. Blupine Energy was awarded 100 MW for Rs 3.05/kWh and O2 Power won 70 MW at Rs 3.17/kWh. ACME Pokhran Solar was allocated 50 MW for Rs 3.26/kWh. Finally, Ayana secured 140 MW of the 200 MW bid capacity at Rs 3.27/kWh.

GUVNL will enter into power purchase agreements with the selected bidders for a duration of 25 years, starting from the project’s planned commercial operation date or the date of final commissioning, whichever is earlier. The projects should be built to link to the state transmission utility or the central transmission utility through a dedicated transmission line to supply electricity to the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation’s area.
