GUVNL requests bids for 750 MW grid-connected solar projects

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) has requested bids for 750 MW of grid-connected solar projects, with a greenshoe option for an additional 750 MW. As an earnest money deposit, bidders must contribute Rs 400,000 per MW. GUVNL may opt to enter into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with winning bidders for a period of 25 years beginning with the project’s anticipated commercial operation date. Solar projects will be permitted in existing wind farms that are already linked to the grid, subject to the availability of spare capacity for renewable energy integration at the associated Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO) substation. The project’s minimum capacity should be 25 MW.

The project’s grid connecting with the state transmission utility, or the central transmission utility (CTU) substation can be accomplished directly through a dedicated line or a pooling substation of an existing wind farm. The selected bidder will oversee establishing grid connectivity with GETCO or CTU. It can arrange connectivity via a dedicated transmission line that the successful bidder may build or have built by GETCO or another agency on a deposit work basis, or via a pooling sub-station of an existing wind farm. The bid submission deadline is August 23, 2022.

Recently, GUVNL issued a request for selection to developers for power from 500 MW of renewable energy projects with a guaranteed peak power supply and an energy storage system under Phase XV. The bid submission deadline is July 30, 2022.
