Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA) has requested for bids to manufacturers of solar modules, luminaries, and lithium batteries to establish manufacturing and assembly facilities in Bihar. To be eligible, bidders must have a valid manufacturing license issued to them. They should have a manufacturing capacity of 25 MW of solar modules, 50,000 of lithium batteries, and 50,000 for luminaries. The bid submission deadline is August 5, 2022.
A manufacturer who wishes to establish a manufacturing or assembly unit in Bihar within six months of provisional empanelment for solar modules, luminaries, and lithium batteries will be eligible to participate in the tender. BREDA has released an expression of interest to invite manufacturers of the luminary, battery, and solar modules.
In May 2022, Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited signed an agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India to provide clean electricity to Bodh Gaya and Rajgir, two cultural centres and major tourist attractions in the state. The power sales agreement will cover 210 MW of renewable energy.
