EVI Technologies partners with HPCL for EV chargers at 136 locations

EVI Technologies (EVIT), an electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure startup, has teamed up with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to install EV chargers at oil marketing company’s petrol pumps. Reportedly, the company will set up stations at HPCL pumps in major cities and highways in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttarakhand.

EVIT will provide charging facilities for EV users at HPCL petrol pumps and EV users will be able to charge their vehicles at the nearest HPCL pump as part of this scheme. Slow and fast EV chargers for electric scooters, autos, and cars will be established at 136 locations across the designated states. The HPCL cooperation is expected to play a significant role in encouraging EV owners to charge their vehicles at various petrol pumps. The company is present across various segments of the EV ecosystem—public charging, captive charging, home and workplace charging, and ultra-rapid chargers for buses.

In May 2022, IIT Delhi and EVIT developed the Battery Xchange System (BXS) for two and three-wheeler EVs under the Sustainable E-Mobility vertical of Delhi Research Implementation and Innovation. EVIT is expected to install the BXS at IIT Delhi as a concept developed for electric three-wheelers that will only be utilised on campus.
