META4 invests Rs 2.5 billion in electric two-wheeler manufacturing in Telangana

META4, located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has announced that it will invest Rs 2.5 billion in Telangana to establish an electric two-wheeler manufacturing factory. META4 has also claimed to have reached an agreement with the Telangana government under which the state will provide land worth 15 acres at subsidised rates. The land will be given in the Zaheerabad area. META4 also stated that the investment was made through Voltly Energy, a company that specialises in electric two-wheeler production as well as energy-efficient EV charging solutions for all EVs.

In April 2022, Biliti Electric Inc, based in California, announced plans to build the world’s largest electric three-wheeler plant in Telangana, with an annual production capacity of 240,000 electric vehicles. The new plant is expected to require $150 million in private investment and will provide employment to over 3,000 people in the state. Furthermore, the facilities would be constructed in two phases on a 200-acre area. Phase I would be developed on 13.5 acres and would have the capacity to produce 18,000 vehicles per year. It is expected to be operational in early 2023. The larger facility, which spans 200 acres, is set to open in 2024 and would be capable of producing 240,000 vehicles per year.
