GSECL to set up 100 MW of wind power projects in Gujarat

The Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL) has issued a request for proposals for the engineering, supply, procurement, installation, and commissioning of 100 MW of wind power at two locations on a turnkey basis. The winning bidder will be responsible for the projects’ operation and maintenance for a period of 25 years. Within 16 months of receiving the letter of intent, the project must be commissioned. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 6 billion. The bid submission deadline is June 12, 2022.

As per the tender guidelines, the bidders must submit Rs 5 million as an earnest money deposit. Within 14 working days of receiving the letter of intent, the successful bidder will be required to submit an amount equal to 5 per cent of the contract value as a performance bank guarantee. The bidder must have completed one similar work of at least 80 MW in value, two similar works of at least 50 MW each, or three similar works of at least 40 MW each.

In October 2021, GSECL floated a tender for the design, engineering, supply, procurement, installation, and commissioning of 60 MW grid-connected solar power projects at various substations of the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO) in the Kutchh district of Gujarat. Sukhpar (15 MW), Chandavada (34 MW), and Kakarva (11 MW) will be developed as part of the project. The project’s estimated cost is Rs 2.4 billion.
