Adani Green commissions hybrid power plant in Rajasthan

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has commissioned a 390 MW wind-solar hybrid power generation project. As per the company’s statement, Adani Green’s subsidiary Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer One Limited (AHEIOL) has commissioned the said project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The project, when it was awarded, was expected to have 360 MW of solar and 100 MW of wind energy.

Under the PPA, power will be delivered at a tariff of Rs 2.69 per unit, which is said to be well below the average power procurement cost (APPC) at the national level. With the successful commissioning of the Jaisalmer facility, Adani Green now has a total renewable portfolio of 20.4 GW, bringing the company on track to reach its target of 45 GW of capacity by 2030. Between now and 2025–26, the company expects to add around 3 GW of capacity every year.

Earlier this month, the Adani Group inked an MoU with the government of Andhra Pradesh for about a Rs 600 billion investment by Adani Green Energy in the state. Approximately 10,000 people will be employed directly and indirectly as a result of the project. In Andhra Pradesh, Adani Green Energy will build a 3,700 MW hydro storage plant and a 10,000 MW solar energy project.
