Uttarakhand, BPCL to sign an agreement for renewable energy development

The state government of Uttarakhand has announced that it has signed a MoU with Central Government owned Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to boost the renewable energy sector in the state. As per the statement, the agreement would help in the growth of the renewable energy sector in the state, particularly solar energy. Energy and tourism are two major pillars of the state’s development.

In April 2022, BPCL announced that it will invest Rs 2 billion to ramp up an electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in India. BPCL would set up 100 fast EV charging corridors having 2,000 stations along the busiest 100 national highways in this fiscal year.
