MSEDCL floats a tender for 325 MW of intrastate wind power projects

Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has issued a request for proposals for 325 MW of power from intrastate wind projects. MSEDCL has set a ceiling tariff of Rs 2.65 per kWh for the tender. MSEDCL will enter into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the bidders to purchase wind power for 12 years from the execution of the PPA or the date of expiry of the energy purchase agreement (EPA) for the existing wind power projects. The bid submission deadline is June 9, 2022.

As per the tender guidelines, the bidders will have to submit an amount equivalent to Rs 100,000 per MW per project as an earnest money deposit. The intrastate projects that are already supplying power to MSEDCL or any other distribution company under long-term PPAs which have expired or are due to expire on or before March 31, 2023, are also eligible to participate in the tender. The tender will be open to wind power plants that are currently wheeling or selling power under open access or short-term power purchase agreements.

In February 2022, MSEDCL published a tender for a total of 445 MW (AC) of solar power from decentralised, grid-connected PV projects of 500 kW to 2 MW capacity to be produced under component-A of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja evam Utthan Mahabhiyan programme. The tender’s ceiling tariff has been fixed at Rs 3.10 per kWh.
