MPUVNL floats a tender for 1,250 MW of solar projects

Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL) has requested bids for 1,250 MW of grid-connected solar power projects at various locations in Madhya Pradesh under Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (KUSUM) programme. The power from the projects will be procured by the Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited.

The scope of work comprises design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning, as well as bay and related switch gear construction at the sub-station. Also, the winning bidder will be responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the project for a period of 25 years. By 2022, the government intends to solarise 1.5 million grid-connected solar pumps with individual capacities of up to 7.5 HP under Component C of the KUSUM initiative. The overall bid capacity is unlimited. The bidders would be required to deposit a bid security of Rs 100,000 per MW. In addition, the winning bidder would be required to provide a performance bank guarantee of Rs 500,000 per MW for a period of 12 months. The power purchase agreement should last 25 years from the start of commercial operations. The bid submission deadline is June 7, 2022.

In April 2022, MPUVNL issued a request for proposal for the standardisation of rates and selection of contractors to design, engineer, supply, install, test, and commission grid-connected rooftop solar systems with or without energy storage, as well as off-grid rooftop solar systems with energy storage, totalling about 11 MW in Madhya Pradesh. The selected contractors will also be responsible for the O&M of the project for five years from the date of commissioning.
