BSPGCL floats solar consultancy tender in Bihar

The Bihar State Power Generation Company (BSPGCL) has issued a request for proposal (RFP) for consultants to construct 200 to 250 MW solar power projects with battery energy storage systems at Kara and Pirpainti in Bihar. The bid submission deadline is May 25, 2022.

According to the reports, the project is divided into two stages. The consultant must prepare a feasibility report and a detailed project report for Kara and Pirpainti separately in the first phase. They must provide vendor and contractual support in bidding process management to BSPGCL in the second phase. Furthermore, the bidders must have at least 10 years of experience providing consulting services in India. As per the tender guidelines, the bidders must pay Rs 10,590 for the tender fee and the cost of the bidding documents. The bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 100,000. On or before the time of agreement execution, the winning bidder must present a contract performance guarantee of 10 per cent of the contract amount.

In February 2022, the Bihar government awarded Avaada Energy a 2 MW floating solar power unit over a six-acre water body in Darbhanga district, and the project is expected to be commissioned soon. As per the company statement, the floating solar project would generate 2.7 million units of power per year over its 25-year life cycle, which is enough to offset more than 64,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
