Tata Motors, Lithium Urban Technologies sign MoU for EV fleet deployment

Tata Motors has entered into an agreement with Lithium Urban Technologies, a Bengaluru-based company owned by Eversource Capital, to deploy 5000 Xpres T electric sedans for employee transportation across India. Tata Motors has stated that electric vehicle (EV) deliveries will take place in stages and will be completed by 2023. Lithium Urban Technologies provides urban transportation services, but only with EVs.

In July 2021, Tata Motors introduced the Xpres-T EV sedan. In the electric sedan, the company provides two range options: 213 km and 165 km. The battery pack’s energy density is kept high at 21.5 kWh and 16.5 kWh. Using fast charging systems, the EV can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in 90 minutes and 110 minutes, respectively. The batteries can also be charged from any 15 A plug point.

In March 2022, Tata Power and the Rustomjee Group joined forces to install EV charging infrastructure at the latter’s commercial and residential projects around Mumbai. According to the company’s statement, it has teamed up with Rustomjee Group to provide end-to-end EV charging solutions across all of its residential and commercial projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). As part of this agreement, Tata Power will install a dedicated charging infrastructure for residents of Rustomjee in Mumbai MMR.
