Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) has issued a request for selection (RfS) to developers for the procurement of power from 500 MW of solar projects in Phase XIV, with a greenshoe option of up to 500 MW of extra capacity. According to the reports, GUVNL plans to purchase solar power to meet its renewable power purchase obligation as well as future requirements of distribution companies. The bid submission deadline is May 18, 2022.
As per the tender guidelines, a bidder can submit multiple bids for a total capacity of 500 MW, which includes the power available under the Greenshoe option. Furthermore, GUVNL can enter into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the winning bidders for a period of 25 years after the project’s anticipated commercial operation date. The project must have a minimum capacity of 25 MW. The winning bidders will be responsible for all approvals, permits, and clearances required for setting up the project, including connectivity and land registration.
In January 2022, GUVNL issued a Rfs from developers for the procurement of power from 500 MW of grid-connected solar power projects (Phase-XIII). GUVNL also plans to purchase solar power capacity to meet its renewable power purchase obligation and future distribution company needs.
