Oil India Limited (OIL) has entered into an incubation agreement with Ohm Clean Tech Private Limited for the design, integration, and development of a 9-M Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered e-Bus as well as a Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) solution. The start-up will be mentored and supported by IIT-Guwahati.
OIL has already started a hydrogen generating and blending test operation. It is presently supporting this start-up in the fields of hydrogen storage, transportation, and mobility solutions. OIL has also announced that its SNEH (start-up nurturing, enabling & handholding) scheme will support qualifying start-ups.
OIL is currently incubating six start-ups from across the country, all of which are focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as robotics, instrumentation, biotech, and fuel distribution solutions. It is expected that after the successful completion of these two new hydrogen energy collaborations, OIL, in collaboration with the start-up, would be able to run a hydrogen fuel cell powered e-bus in northeast India in a short period of time.
