BHEL floats a 50 MW tender for module cleaning system

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has issued a request for proposal for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of a module cleaning system for a 50 MW solar power project of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company at Koudgaon in Maharashtra. Within six weeks of the site handover, the module cleaning system must be delivered. The bid submission deadline is April 19, 2022.

The scope of work comprises the supply of two vehicle-mounted mobile units for solar module cleaning and washing. Alternatively, bidders could have also executed operations and maintenance works of solar projects involving both supply, installation, and commissioning. Furthermore, the winning bidder must submit a performance guarantee at 10 per cent of the entire project costs only if the finalised contract value is above Rs 2.5 million; if the contract value is less than the aforesaid amount, no performance guarantee is required.

In December 2021, BHEL invited bids from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to supply 42,000 metric tons of module mounting structures. The MoU will be effective for one year. OEM sub-vendors such as Tata Steel, Steel Authority of India Limited, Jindal Steel, and the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam must provide raw materials to the vendor.
