Tata Power, Enviro partner to deploy EV charging points

Tata Power has teamed up with Enviro, the facility management arm of NCR-based real estate developer Vatika Group, to construct 59 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across its Gurugram facilities. The EV chargers will be deployed at 18 locations around the Vatika Group’s Gurugram properties. Depending on the nature of the premises, these chargers will be available as Public Charging Stations or Semi-Public Charging Stations.

According to the reports, as a result of the partnership, commuters will have easy access to chargers, which would also encourage them to drive electric vehicles. This partnership will be critical to accelerating EV adoption among EV users in the National Capital Region (NCR). Enviro has been a pioneer in Delhi – NCR with the concept of E-Scooters and E-Rickshaws as a form of last-mile connectivity for the residential and commercial properties it manages since 2019.

In February 2022, Tata Power joined forces with RWE Renewable GmbH of Germany to explore potential for a joint development of offshore wind projects in India. According to the reports, the MoU between Tata Power Renewable Energy and RWE is relevant in consideration of the Indian government’s announcement that 30 GW of offshore wind projects will be installed by 2030 to address the country’s expanding power demands.
