SECI floats tender for a 5 MW grid-connected solar project in Jammu & Kashmir

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a request for proposals for the design, engineering, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 5 MW grid-connected saffron-based agro solar power plant in Jammu & Kashmir’s Pulwama area. The winning bidder will also be responsible for the project’s operations and maintenance for ten years. The saffron-based agro solar project is a unique initiative by SECI in which the solar project’s land will also be utilised to grow saffron.
As per the tender guidelines, to be eligible for the bidding process, an earnest money payment of Rs 4.7 million will be required of all interested bidders. As contract performance security, the winning bidder will be required to provide an amount equal to 4 per cent of the contract value. The project must be completed within 12 months of the date on which the letter of award was issued. Bidders should be aware that the basic customs duty (BCD) would be imposed from April 1, 2022, and should bid accordingly, according to SECI. The bid submission deadline is April 19, 2022.
Earlier this month, SECI paid solar and wind power generators a total of Rs 5.43 billion for power acquired in January 2022. The amount disbursed accounted for almost 80 per cent of the total amount of Rs 6.9 billion paid by the nodal agency during the month. The payments paid reportedly belonged to Clean Solar Power (Gulbarga), Solar Edge Power & Energy, Green Infra Wind Energy, Adani Wind Energy Kutchh Three, Eden Renewables, and SBG Cleantech Projectco Five.
