NTPC invites Eol for land to set up wind projects in seven states

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has invited expressions of interest (EoIs) for shortlisting eligible land banks and parcels in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh to set up wind energy projects. The bid submission deadline is March 30, 2022.

As per the tender guidelines, the land parcel should be level in nature (with a 5 per cent grade) and accessible via all-weather roads. The minimum width of land should never be less than 500 metres, so that roads, cable routes, drainage, and other facilities can be planned properly. The pooling substation of the supplied land parcels should be no more than 50 kilometres away from the nearest state transmission utility (STU) substation. The land should be free of government limitations when it comes to constructing wind farms. A single location or numerous locations connected to a single pooling substation should have a capacity of greater than 100 MW.

Furthermore, the capacity provided can be distributed across various patches of land within a single village or across multiple villages. However, all of these locations’ evacuation facilities should be within 50 kilometres of each other. The Eol response will be used by NTPC to select various land banks or land parcels for wind energy project development. Various responses and contributions will also be used to create future request for proposal (RfP) criteria or form a strategic partnership to evaluate wind energy project locations. Following the identification of candidates interested in offering land banks or land parcels through this Eol, RfP will be invited to purchase the land outright or negotiate into a long-term lease agreement with the landowner separately.

Earlier this month, for the development of 500 MW of STU connected solar projects in Rajasthan, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) requested bids for land acquisition and an extra-high voltage (EHV) transmission system package. The bid submission deadline is March 21, 2022.
