Adani, Ballard Power partners to explore hydrogen fuel cell production in India

Adani Group and Ballard Power Systems have joined up to assess a combined investment in hydrogen fuel cell production in India. According to the MoU, both parties will explore numerous alternatives for collaboration, including the possibility of collaborating on fuel cell manufacturing in India, according to Adani Group.

Hydrogen is becoming a more important medium for decarbonising energy, industry, and transportation. Through increased investment in renewable energy, Adani intends to become one of the world’s largest green hydrogen producers.

In January 2022, POSCO and Adani Group signed a non-binding MoU to further collaborate at the group business level in various industries such as renewable energy, hydrogen, and logistics. The collaboration included the evaluation of a joint integrated steel mill in Mundra, Gujarat, based on POSCO’s technology and R&D capability. The investment is expected to be worth up to $5 billion. POSCO and Adani also signed an MoU with the Gujarat government to secure government support and cooperation for the collaboration.
