REIL floats tender for 200,000 mono or multicrystalline solar cells

Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL), a state-central government joint venture, has issued a request for proposals for the delivery of 200,000 monocrystalline or multicrystalline solar cells with a wattage output higher than or equal to 4.62W. The bid submission deadline is February 21, 2022.

As per the tender guidelines, the cells must have dimensions of 156 x 156 1.0 mm and a length of five busbars. The cell thickness should be 200 um +/- 20 um. Within two weeks after delivery approval, the complete quantity must be delivered in two lots of 100,000 each. Solar cells should be packaged in boxes of 100, with one box containing solar cells in the 0.05 W power range.  Vendors that have not previously supplied these cells should send a free sample of 140 solar cells to REIL for examination and acceptance before the bidding deadline.

As per the tender document, REIL has stated that 25 per cent of the tendered quantity has been earmarked for micro and small enterprise (MSE) suppliers. Of this, 20 per cent has been allocated for procurement from MSEs owned by Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs. If an MSE vendor participates in the tender and quotes within the lowest bid price band (L1) + 15 per cent, the vendor will be allowed to supply the portion of the demand if the vendor accepts the L1 price. If there are multiple MSE vendors, the supply will be equally shared.
