RenewSys expands solar encapsulant capacity to 3 GW

RenewSys has announced that its annual solar cell encapsulant manufacturing output has reached 3 GW with the recent commissioning of a new encapsulant line at its Bengaluru facility. Ethylene-vinyl acetate and polyolefin elastomer sheets can be produced on the newest line.

According to the report, the company expects to expand its encapsulant output to 11 GW by adding another 8 GW in stages. In order to achieve that target, it has already begun work on adding another GW of encapsulant production capacity, bringing its total capacity to 4 GW. RenewSys recently introduced an EVA encapsulant called CONSERV Ultra plus (U+). This thermo-efficient encapsulant reduces the curing time per PV module cycle by 2-3 minutes, enhancing the efficiency of the module manufacturing line by 10 per cent to 20 per cent.

In July 2021, RenewSys had set up a state-of-the-art module manufacturing facility for 2 GW of solar modules. The unit is in Patalganga in the state of Maharashtra. The proximity to Mumbai and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust is expected to help the company in strengthening its customer service capabilities by reducing the delivery time lines.
