NTPC floats tender for 720 MW of wind projects

NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has issued a request for proposals for the development package (Balance of System with Land) of ISTS-connected wind energy projects with a capacity of up to 720 MW. The projects can be implemented throughout India.

The scope of work comprises design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and providing guaranteed parameters for the wind farm installation, which includes 33 kV internal evacuation lines from the unit substation, pooling substation, central monitoring and control station, reactive power compensating devices, and external transmission line until the ISTS substation. The bid submission deadline is March 4, 2022.

According to the reports , to participate in the bidding process, the bidder must have planned, supplied, overseen the erection, and commissioned a minimum of 40 MW of wind generating projects at a single location. One project should have been of 10 MW or higher capacity at a single location with the related civil and electrical works, out of the total capacity. Alternatively, the bidder shall be a developer of grid-connected wind power projects with a total capacity of 40 MW or more, including at least one project with a capacity of 10 MW or more at a single location.

Earlier this month, NTPC Renewable Energy issued a request for proposals from developers to build interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected energy storage systems with a capacity of 3,000 MWh and a minimum capacity of 500 MW anywhere in India. NTPC aims to use the energy storage installations to meet its round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy requirement with a wind-solar profile under the service model.
