Ayana Renewable Power Six has awarded a contract to Siemens Gamesa to deliver turbines for a 302 MW wind farm project in Karnataka. Under the agreement, Siemens Gamesa will supply and install 84 units of its SG 3.6-145 wind turbines for the project, which is planned to be built in Karnataka’s Gadag district. In the SECI ISTS Tranche X tender, Ayana secured this project and would build the necessary infrastructure for this wind farm in Karnataka.
The SG 3.6-145 turbine is a modification of the SG 3.4-145, which is based on the original SG 3.4-132. According to the company, the revised control system and improved load management under specific site conditions allow the turbine to provide a nominal power output of 3.6 MW. The turbine has a 41 per cent higher rotor swept area that generates 48 per cent more annual energy production than the prior SG 2.2-122. The project is planned to be completed in 2023.
In December 2021, Ayana Renewable Power and ACME Solar Holdings Private Limited announced the closure of a deal as part of which ACME will sell 100 per cent equity stake in an operational 250 MWAC solar project to Ayana. With this transaction, Ayana is currently developing and managing close to 3 GW of renewable energy projects. Under a long-term power purchase agreement, the plant is connected to the interstate transmission system and distributes power to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited.
