UPNEDA issues an empanelment tender for 38 MW rooftop solar systems in Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has invited bids to empanel companies to design, supply, erect, test, and commission 38 MW of grid-connected residential rooftop solar systems of various capacities under the CAPEX model. The empanelled vendors will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance activities of the project for five years. They should also make the appropriate procedures at the interconnection point to remove extra power to the grid. The bid submission deadline is December 13, 2021.

The project must be completed within six months of receiving the letter of allocation or 15 months of receiving approval from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) to the discoms. The projects will be created as part of the MNRE’s phase-II of the grid-connected rooftop solar programme.

As per the tender guidelines, to participate in bidding process through e-tendering, bidders must have ‘Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)’ required for digitally signing the bid, which can be obtained from any approved vendors (CCA). The bidder must have designed, supplied, installed and commissioned grid-connected rooftop solar projects having aggregate capacity not less than 100 kWp for Part A & B and Part C & D (minimum capacity of each project size is 10 kW), which should have been commissioned prior to the techno-commercial bid opening date.

In September 2021, UPNEDA floated a tender to set up 200 MW of solar projects in the state’s solar park. The tender has been set at a quoted tariff of Rs 3 per kWh. The projects will be set up at three locations in the Jalaun district– 75 MW at Gurhah, 30 MW at Tikar (Tikar 1 and 2), and 45 MW in Makrechha & Banghauli, as well as 50 MW at Kanpur Dehat with a in the Uttar Pradesh Solar Park.
