SCCL floats consultancy tender for 250 MW (DC) floating solar project in Karimnagar

Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has floated a consultancy tender for a 250 MW DC floating solar project at Lower Manair Dam, Karimnagar. SCCL is a coal mining firm jointly owned by the central government and the Telangana government. The scope of work comprises basic engineering, design engineering review services of the engineering procurement and construction contractor, site preparation and construction management, inspection and testing services and project handover services, and module inspection services.

As per the tender guidelines, to be eligible, the bidder must have consultancy experience of at least five years in solar project works in India, including a detailed project report or management consultancy services for floating solar projects of a minimum 25 MW DC capacity. The bidder must furnish an irrevocable bank guarantee of 3 per cent of the contract value, including goods and services tax. The consultant agreement is for a period of 24 months. The bid submission deadline is November 8, 2021.

In March 2021, the Solar Energy Corporation of India SECI floated tenders for a total of 81 MW (AC) of solar projects at the premises of SCCL. The first tender was for the design, engineering, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of 34 MW (AC) of ground-based solar photovoltaic (PV) projects at different sites, including ten years of operations and maintenance (O&M). The second tender was for 32 MW (AC) of rooftop solar projects at different sites, including ten years of O&M. The third tender was issued for the design, supply, engineering, construction, and commissioning of 15 MW (AC) of floating solar PV power projects at different sites. The contract also included ten years of O&M activities.
