Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL) has floated a tender for the supply of 1 million monocrystalline or multicrystalline silicon solar cells with a wattage output of 4.67 W. The bid submission deadline is October 21, 2021. According to the tender specifications, 25 per cent of the total quantity specified in the tender has been set aside for micro and small business (MSE) providers. Out of this quantity, 20 per cent has been designated for procurement by MSEs owned by Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs.
If the L1 price is accepted, an MSE vendor bidding within the L1 (lowest bid) + 15 per cent price band will be allowed to supply a portion of the demand. If there are multiple MSE vendors, the supply will be equally shared. The bid is for five busbars monocrystalline or multicrystalline silicon solar cells with dimensions of 156*156 1.0 mm or 156.75*156.75 1.0 mm. The solar cells should have a thickness of 200 +/- 20 m. Further, the solar cells must be free of cracks, holes, cuts, edge chipping, missing gridlines, patches, spots, marks, mechanical damage, or colour and pattern mismatches.
Earlier this month, REIL invited bids to procure 5,000 polycrystalline solar modules of 330 W and 335 W each. The modules must be made from 72 solar cells. As per the tender guidelines, bidders must provide a warranty against manufacturing defects for five years and six months from the date of supply. After ten years, the module degradation should be no less than 90 per cent, and after 25 years, it should be no less than 80 per cent.
