CEL issues tender for 147 MW of decentralized solar power generating systems

Central Electronics Limited (CEL) has invited bids from empaneled applicant firms for the construction of decentralised solar power generating system (SPGS) ranging from 2 MW to 10 MW for a cumulative capacity of 147 MW (in 11 lots) at various substations in Maharashtra. The lots (A to K) have been divided based on the 31 separate locations of the substations.

The scope of work comprises site surveys, design, engineering, procurement, supply of equipment, testing at manufacturer’s works, inspection, packing, civil works, erection, testing, and commissioning of the solar generating systems at the substations. The winning bidder will also be responsible for developing the associated transmission system up to 11 kV or 22 kV at the designated substations. The winning bidder will also be responsible for operations and maintenance of the solar systems for a period of 12 years. The bid submission deadline is October 18, 2021.

In August 2021, CEL invited expressions of interest (EoI) to empanel engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors to develop 200 MW of solar projects across India. The public sector enterprise proposed to install ground-mounted solar power generating systems with capacities ranging from 2 MW to 10 MW with a total capacity of 200 MW.
