Senvion India has been awarded a 591 MW project to produce its wind turbines for JSW Energy. The turbines will be used in JSW Energy’s ongoing pipeline of 2.5 GW of renewable projects which are under construction. In the project, 2.7 MW turbines will be used. When fully operational, these wind turbines will produce enough clean energy to power over 450,000 Indian households. The delivery of the turbines will start in the first half of 2022. The project also comes with a 10-year operations and maintenance (O&M) contract. The financial details of the contract are not disclosed.
In July 2021, Alfanar completed its 100 per cent acquisition of the Indian arm of wind turbine original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Senvion India. This deal enables Senvion India to continue to operate as a full-fledged OEM in the Indian market, thereby providing full engineering, procurement and construction and O&M solutions for wind power projects in India. The acquisition was made through Global Renewable Energy Development Holding Company Limited, which is a dedicated investment vehicle set up by the promoters of Alfanar and EY.
