IOCL invites bids to empanel vendors to develop solar projects across India

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has floated a tender in two categories to empanel vendors to develop solar projects at its locations and retail outlets across India. The tender specifies projects under two categories; under Category-I, individual solar projects of capacities up to 50 kW based in specific regions will be developed. Under Category-II, individual solar project capacity of above 50 kW and up to 500 kW will be developed across India. The bid submission deadline is October 16, 2021.

The scope of work comprises the design, engineering, testing, supply, packing, transportation, storage, installation, and commissioning of the project. The successful bidder will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the project for two years and a further extension of three years subject to satisfactory performance.

As per the tender guidelines, to be eligible for the bidding process, the bidder must have successfully installed and commissioned a total capacity of 150 kW in the previous three years to bid for Category-I. In order to qualify for Category-II, the bidder must have installed and commissioned a total capacity of 1,500 kW within the previous three years.

In September 2020, IOCL floated a tender for setting up of a solar power project with a capacity of 2.75 MW at the firms’ LPG bottling plant in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. The project has been proposed for captive consumption at multiple IOCL locations across Tamil Nadu through open access.
