Montenegro to launch new metering scheme for 3,000 rooftop PV systems

Montenegro’s public electricity provider, ElektroprivredaCrne Gore and the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism have launched a net metering scheme to support the installation of 3,000 residential rooftop PV systems. Home owners will be encouraged to engage in the programme, which will provide investment return over five to seven years. Furthermore, certain households will be permitted to sell the excess solar energy to the utility. According to the authorities, the initiative is expected to generate up to Euro 30 million in investment and 400 jobs.
