
REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has floated two tenders for transmission systems to evacuate a total of 3,500 MW of renewable power in the Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, and the Gadag district of Karnataka.
The first tender is for the development of a transmission system in Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, to evacuate 2,500 MW of power from renewable energy projects. The scope of work comprises the establishment, operation, and maintenance of the project on a build, own, and operate basis as well as the completion of all the activities for the project, including survey, detailed project report formulation, arranging finance, project management, clearances, design, engineering, construction, erection, and commissioning. The bid submission deadline is November 11, 2021. As per the tender, to be eligible, the bidder must have experience producing projects with a total cost of at least Rs 5.05 billion in the previous five years. However, each project’s capital investment shall not be less than Rs 1.01 billion.
The second tender is for the development of a transmission system in Gadag, Karnataka, to evacuate 1,000 MW of power from renewable energy projects. The bid submission deadline as well as the bidder’s experience for developing projects in the last five years for this tender is the same as it was for the first tender. As per the tender guidelines, to be eligible for the bidding process, the winning bidder must acquire 100 per cent of the equity shares of Gadag Transmission Limited along with all its related assets and liabilities.
