UPNEDA floats a tender to set up 200 MW solar projects

The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has floated a tender to set up 200 MW of solar projects in the state’s solar park. The tender has been set at a quoted tariff of Rs 3 per kWh. The projects will be set up at three locations in the Jalaun district– 75 MW at Gurhah, 30 MW at Tikar (Tikar 1 and 2), and 45 MW in Makrechha & Banghauli, as well as  50 MW at Kanpur Dehat with a in the Uttar Pradesh Solar Park. The bid submission deadline is October 4, 2021.

As per the tender guidelines, to be eligible, the winning bidder will have to furnish an amount of Rs 1.05 million per MW within 30 days of issuing the letter of intent as the performance bank guarantee. A bidder’s maximum number of projects, including those assigned to its parent, affiliate, ultimate parent, or any other group business, shall be restricted to five. The project shall be finished within 15 months from the effective date of the PPA. As part of liquidated damages, the entire performance bank guarantee amount for the project will be encashed on a per-day basis if the project is delayed beyond the projected commissioning date until the date of 21 months from the effective date of the PPA.

In May 2021, UPNEDA had floated a tender for the development of 106 MW of solar plants under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evem Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM) Scheme. The tender was for setting up decentralized ground-mounted grid-connected solar power plants, having capacities of 0.5 MW /1 MW/ 1.5 MW / 2 MW (AC). These plants were to be set up on barren, uncultivable, or agricultural land, as well as pasturelands and marshlands of farmers which fall within a radius of 5 km from 33/11KV substations, 24 of which had been set up by the discoms in Uttar Pradesh.
