PEDA invites bids for 243 grid-connected rooftop solar systems in Punjab

The Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has floated a tender for the installation and commissioning of 243 grid-connected rooftop solar systems with a capacity of 5 kW each, totaling 1.215 MW, at government schools and district institutes of education and training (DIETs) across Punjab. The scope of work comprises the design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning as well as providing a five-year warranty on the project. It will also cover the operation and maintenance of rooftop systems for five years, covering wear and tear, overhauling, machine failure, and replacement of defective modules, invertors, spares, consumables, and other parts. The bid submission deadline is September 20, 2021. The allocated work must be completed within 100 days from the date of issuance of the work order.

As per the tender guidelines, to be eligible, the bidder must have installed and commissioned rooftops system of a cumulative of 1 MW in India. Of this, 25 systems must be up to 10 kW each for any government agency, state nodal agency or any public sector enterprise. Also, failure to complete the work order on time will result in a penalty of 1 per cent of the delayed goods or part thereof for each week of delay, up to a maximum of 10 per cent of the value of the delayed goods and services, including project commissioning.

In May 2021, PEDA had floated a tender for 5 MW grid-connected rooftop solar projects on the government building in the state. The winning bidder will be responsible for operations and maintenance of the project for 5 years.
