Jai Narain Vyas University (JNVU) has issued invited bids to set up a 1 MW rooftop solar project with net metering facility in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, using the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model. This is line line with several other Indian educational institutes’ which have installed rooftop solar projects on their campuses. The bid submission deadline is September 15, 2021.
The scope of work comprises the design, supply, erection, testing, commissioning of the project. The winning bidder will also be responsible for the project’s operation and maintenance for the next 25 years. As per the tender guidelines, to be eligible, the bidder must have expertise designing, supplying, installing, and commissioning at least one rooftop solar power project with a minimum capacity of 250 kW and a total of 2,000 kW commissioned in the three years before the proposal submission date. The bidder must be a company, partnership firm, limited liability partnership firm or a registered sole proprietor. Further, the bidder must also have a minimum annual turnover of Rs 10 million.
In November 2020, Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL) had also floated an online request for proposal (RfP) for the development of 30 MW of rooftop solar capacity across multiple locations in Madhya Pradesh, under the RESCO model.
